Hi my name is Cherie Wilson.
The most important thing to know about me is that I am a Christian; and I am passionately pursuing God’s call on my life to serve Him. I am also an athlete, writer, poet, and baking enthusiast. One other very important thing about me is that I am an identical twin, which has shaped my identity significantly!
My twin sister, Chantal, is truly my best friend, confidant, and encourager. She has always pushed me to have courage, to chase my dreams, and to get my butt back in shape when I begin to drift off course.
The best way I know to give you a snapshot into my personality is to give you my enneagram number. I am a 2 wing 3, which means I am a big time helper who loves achieving goals and accomplishing tasks. I also have a hard time saying no when someone asks me for help. More than anything, I absolutely love people.
I graduated from college with a bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education at the University of Tennessee at Martin (UTM) and I also was a division one athlete running Cross Country as well as Track and Field for my four years there. These several years earning my undergrad degree and running at a division 1 level were some of the most defining years of my life.
One of the reasons those years were so influential in my life was because they were filled with so many trials; and I really had to learn how to fully put my trust in God. Despite those trials, I was able to leave college with real joy in my heart and with complete trust in God. I also left with a clear purpose for the next chapter of my life. I knew that God was preparing and calling me into ministry.
So I moved from Tennessee to Arizona. I made Arizona my new home and began my journey into vocational ministry. Moving half way across the country all alone was difficult but the right decision. This past year has been a rollercoaster of loneliness, laughter, loss, joy, and trials; but I wouldn’t want to get off this ride for anything because God’s faithfulness and love has never been so clear to me.
Through it all I have found my passion for writing. So this is what I do; I listen for God’s voice and I write. For me writing allows me to process, remember, and capture moments in my life that I do not want to forget.
Now, my hope is that everything I write glorifies God and helps the people that read it to draw closer to Him. I hope that, just like me, you have an insatiable desire to grow and that the words you read on this blog not only leave you laughing, crying, or somewhere in between, but that it also becomes a source in your life to bring about real spiritual growth that propels positive change in your life.
